Those dogs have a really small brain. I think they are rated one of the stupidest of the dog breeds. But he seems to know a good thing when he sees it with the boy on his back.
We had a book about a dog of that type when I was little - it was called "What-A-Mess," and was about a puppy who ran around making a terrible mess all over the yard and house.

this reminds me of my friend who grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and used to ride her st bernard to the bus stop in kindergarten :-)
